About Bill

Love at First Sound

Bill Bosler (1963) was a drummer since childhood. Ten years ago someone pointed out the hammered dulcimer to him. It was love at first sound. "When I started playing I couldn't stop anymore. I was intrigued. Don't ask me why. The instrument, the sound, the music, it just feels right." He has been playing ever since and composed several songs. He performs at folk festivals and concerts throughout the year.

Weddings

Bill gets more and more requests for wedding ceremonies. The hammered dulcimer is an excellent instrument for romantic wedding music. Bill has rich repertoire and has learned a specific tune if requested. He is also ordain in the Universal Life Church and has officiated at many weddings.  Contact him for more information regarding the options available to have him officiate or perform for your wedding.

CD's

Bill has produced four CD's, the most recent with guitarist Kevin Lockhart entitled Waterbound has won critical acclaim and was selected as one of the top new releases of the year in 2008 by 88.1 WVPE radio in Elkhart, Indiana. Workshops and Lessons

Curious about the hammered dulcimer? Bill gives workshops ranging from an introduction to the instrument and its music, primarily geared to libraries and groups looking for an informative and entertaining evening as well as more in depth and specialized topics that he teaches at music festivals. Lakeside Melodies Resort

In March of 2006, Bill and Carla bought an old resort and renamed it Lakeside Melodies Resort. They have renovated the resort into a musically themed place. Every cottage of the resort has a music theme: Folk cottage, Blues cottage, Rock 'n Roll cottage, and Jazz cottage. The Country cottage is still under renovation. You can often see Bill performing on summer evenings or even giving impromptu house concerts for guests. He has also been known to give a lesson or two.
